About Me

HI!  My name is Debbie. I am a wife of a wonderful husband and a mother of 4 amazing children.  I have a heart for God and His ways.  I have a heart for those who are lost and for those who are struggling.  Someone described me as empathetic.  If you have a pain, I have a pain.  But what if I reversed that?  If I am happy, you are happy.  But how?…. through knowing God’s word.  In Philippians 4:11-13 (NIV) it says, “I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.  I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty.  I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.  I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” Great word!  I am still learning every day how to follow these words of wisdom in my own life.

I know what your thinking, “you have not experienced my pain Debbie.”  And you are probably right.  But I have experienced a lot and that is why I started this blog.  The word says that we go through trials because trials give us purpose, wisdom and we in turn can help others who experience our same problems.

I do know who helped me get through my trials.  I know the one who has experienced your pain.  His name is Jesus.   Hebrews 2:18 (NIV), “Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.”  Jesus did endure a lot.  He went through temptations dealing with bodily sensations.  Jesus was let down by people and betrayed by a friend.  His own family even turned on him. He was born poor. He knew what it was like to be exhausted and even alone.  He grieved for the loss of life.   He got angry and frustrated.  He was pushed and spit on.  And he endured excruciating pain on the cross for you and I.  All in all, I can say, “Jesus gets us!”

There are many self-help books out there but drawing simple truths from God’s word, by applying His word to your life and continuing to have that connection with our mighty and wonderful Father in heaven, you too will be focused on Him and not your circumstances.  You will learn to be content in all situations, good and bad.
